First B@Home properties completed

Back in December 2015 the first sod was cut at Rogers Avenue, Creswell which signified the start of the first phase of our B@Home partnership.

Seven properties on the former garage site on Rodgers Avenue in Creswell are now complete as part our partnership with Woodhead Living and EEM, which will see an anticipated 150 new council homes in the next four years.

The new properties, which are all modern and energy efficient, are already being enjoyed by their new occupants.

Leader, Councillor Ann Syrett said, “We are truly delighted with the first set of completed homes in our B@Home project. It takes us a step closer towards our goal of meeting housing demand.

“We are looking forward to continuing our partnership with Woodhead Living. so we can provide many more high quality homes for our residents over the coming years.”

Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor John Ritchie said, “Our aim is to provide homes that are both affordable and desirable and we believe we have achieved this with our first set of B@Home properties.

Glenn Slater, Business Development Director at Woodhead Living said: “This is a progressive and positive partnership that will raise the standards of affordable housing and deliver local skills and employment opportunities. On this project alone we have engaged with 309 students, created 5 work experience opportunities and held 23 training events.”

Pete Smith, Chief Executive at EEM Ltd said: “When we work with our members and contractors on building frameworks such as this, it’s key we look at the wider benefits to the local community. This four year partnership is still in its first year, but the outcomes already for local people are clear. We’re delighted to be a part of this programme and I look forward to watching its every success as work progresses.”
