Woodhead Group takes decision to “Press Pause” on-site amidst Covid-19 crisis, but emphasises “We’re still open for business”

The Government has advised that construction and housebuilding sites should remain open at the current time.

However, the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, our supply chain, our clients and the public has always been our top priority. With that in mind, the Woodhead Group has decided to pause activity on our construction, housebuilding, conferencing and minor works projects until further notice from the close of business Tuesday (Tuesday 31st March).

Some ‘essential works’ may continue where project teams are working to strict Covid-19 operating procedures.

And we’re not closed, though our sites may not be operational, throughout this period we’re keen to continue to support our clients wherever we can.

We are still undertaking feasibility works, working on bids and tender enquiries, progressing projects that are in pre-construction design stages RIBA 0-4, providing safe emergency responses for defects and preparing for mobilising sites when things get back to normality.

We will also be using this time to ensure that things are in place so we are providing the best possible experience when free movement is once again allowed, and works can recommence.

The decision to pause activity on sites has been taken to allow time to properly and safely close down sites during this period until such time that the pressures of Covid-19 are relieved. We are collaborating with our clients and our supply chain partners to ensure these plans can be implemented effectively. The situation will be kept under constant review and amended in line with the best information available and the support of our clients and supply chain partners.
